Cars for sale

This legendary Group B Rally Car has been developed and sucessfully campaigned specifically for Speed Hillclimbing and Sprinting since 1993.

Designated chassis number 10 this car was originally purchased from David Appleby Motorsport (DAMS) as a road registered rally car A2ROV. This car was fitted with TPR4100 Carbon/Kevlar bodywork, which was developed by Tony Pond Racing for Rover Motorsport. It became one of the 7 or 8 cars to be built with this style of bodywork.

This car is complete with the original 3 litre International spec V6 engine and 5 speed straight cut gear box.

Extensively modified over the years for speed events, for sale complete with all original parts (if required to restore to road/rally spec) and a large spares package.

A full specification in available on request, but further information and history of the car can be found if you click on ‘Cars in our Shed’

———————————————————————————

This chassis was designed and built by John Tojeiro in the early 1950’s. I purchased it during the early 1970’s with all the best intentions in the world to turn it into a period sport racing car. Although I bought it as a rolling chassis it came with a BMC B series engine and gearbox and a Mistral Glassfibre sports body kit. What you see in the pics is what is left from the original purchase, the poor car has been moved from pillar to post over the years and most of the body parts and mechanicals have been lost or discarded.

John Tojeiro and his sports racing cars has been well documented over the years, with great success in club racing during the 1950’s. History shows that one of his cars was subsequently taken to the AC factory and was used as a template for the AC Ace and Aceca and later famously transformed into the AC Cobra under the supervision of Carroll Shelby complete with a small block Ford V8 engine.

The Tojeiro chassis consists of two parallel three inch diameter steel tubes with the suspension comprising of transverse leaf springs at each end supported on fabricated steel boxes and with lower double wishbones.

The chassis and all components have been sand blasted back to bare metal, the chassis itself being etch primer coated and finished in satin black paint. The suspension and all components have been meticulously checked and overhauled with most steel parts zinc plated with further anti-corrosion treatment.

Now ready to be completed to a finished sport type racing car as originally intended by a dedicated enthusiast.

For the price to purchase this exciting project, I would like to talk and negotiate around a figure of £20,000.

This is LOY 500, which is a very well known Tojeiro sports racing car driven by Cliff Davis in the early 1950’s. This has the same type of chassis.
